IT'S Finished (more or less)

A few words to my loyal readers:

Send out links to this site!

Stuff that is not shared is not truly enjoyed

on a scale of 1 - 10 in quirkiness, this is definitely an 8!

It took a couple of years of stolen moments, but I finally finished it!
It's my first full length novel. It is called:
"Who's going to say Kaddish for the Chinaman's dog"
Its a novel about sin, redemption, and post traumatic
   stress disorder.
It discusses the meaning and purpose of life,
and how good people usually are the ones who do the
 truly evil deeds.
This is because there are no truly evil people.
There are only screwed up people, and everyone is screwed up somehow.
I consider it a Southern Novel.
It is written in the tradition of Falkner and Wallingham,
           as well as Tennessee Williams.
It walks many of the same paths, while exploring many new ones.
I am looking for a publisher.
(Hello, is there anybody out there?)
I am sure that this opus will develop a cult following,
as it takes an unusual look at sexuality, gender, aging,
      Marriage, divorce,life, death, and religion.
It is truly the Anthem of...
That is up to the reader to decide.
What demons are you carrying around?
What does your trail look like?
Can you get back on the horse?
Do you play the cards as they are dealt, or do you whine?
Remember, it is possible to take the pot with twos and threes.
This book is not for whiners.
A rotten childhood will cause Delayed Traumatic Stress Disorder, too.
So will Americas past racism and racist government policies.

Here is a thought. We in America are shocked at the events of the past couple of months. That is because we have not been paying attention to the rest of the world, our past, or our not so near neighbors. When I saw the second airplane hit the building, I was not in the least surprised. I was not surprised when I heard about the first one, and turned on the TV to check the veracity of the news. I was angered and sickened by the loss of life, and the callousness of the people responsible. When everyone was wringing their hands and screaming for vengance, I shook my head, and said a prayer of forgivness. The only thing that will set things right is forgiveness. We as a people have to set an example, or we are no better than those who killed so many, and rubbed our noses in it. Think about it! The whole middle east mess could have been solved thousands of years ago, if the people there had listened to any of the prophets, sent by God to point us in the right direction. Forgivness is the ultimate act of mercy/ charity. The more heinous the deed, the more powerful the act of forgivness can be, as its impact is multiplied by the pain suffered by the person doing the act of forgivness. It is recognised in all religions. Think of Jesus on the Cross, forgiving in advance the people who were killing Him. That is the example we need to emulate. Then we need to share our prosperity with those we have hurt by our greed, xenophobia, myopia, and self centeredness, as well as the historical things that we have done to our own people over the years. If you doubt my words, simply mention the names Andrew Jackson or Davy Crockett to a Cherokee, in Oklahoma or Misouri and see what happens. Substitute David Bengurion, Moshe Dyan, Golda Meir, or Anthony Eden to a Palistinian, and you have the Middle East. All of us have sins to attone. All of us have either by design, or neglect, caused hurt in others. We have to break the chain of pain. We have to recognise the humanity in our fellow souls on Earth, and embrace it. If someone hurts us, we must, as soon as possible , forgive them. Have a nice day
